About us
Our purpose is to connect people with news in fun and engaging ways.
News Games helps news organizations of every size offer interactive word puzzles and news quizzes built from their own editorial content.
Newsrooms have always known that the puzzle page matters. It is the thing readers turn to first, the reason a subscription gets renewed, the habit that survives a slow week. What has been missing is a way to make that page yours — built from your reporting, pointing back to your stories, rather than borrowed from somewhere else.
That is what we build. Every crossword, word puzzle and quiz we publish is generated from a newsroom’s own coverage, so finishing the game hands the reader a short, relevant list of that newsroom’s journalism. It runs every day without anybody having to think about it.
News Games is a public benefit corporation based in the greater Boston area, founded by Kevin McCurdy and Bill Miles. We work with national newsrooms, statewide public radio networks, metro dailies, non-profit newsrooms and small local publishers.
Newsrooms we work with
Public benefit corporation
We are structured as a public benefit corporation because the mission — getting more people to read more news — is the point, not a side effect.
Built for every size of newsroom
The same products serve a national newsroom, a statewide network and a small local weekly. Pricing starts at $49 a month for exactly that reason.
Your brand, not ours
The games live on your pages in your styling. Readers experience them as part of your publication, because they are.
